Winery owner Claus Janzen’s life and career have placed him at various times in Winnipeg, Switzerland, Napa Valley and knee-deep in a derelict vineyard of Sangiovese. With passion for fine wine, courage, some valuable winery experience and hard work, Claus has brought distinctive wines to the international market. His release of Bacio Divino (“divine kiss”) used selected lots of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and small amounts of other varieties and brought the wine and winery into focus for reviewers and wine lovers. Their choice to use Sangiovese in several blends has given a special, distinctive signature to rich and structured Napa Cabernet Sauvignon in particular. Annual production is small, and carefully allocated.
