About the Producer
|
When Moray Tawse decided to invest in a winery, his goal was for nothing short of excellence. He built an amazing team around him, and together they achieved recognition as Canadian Winery of the year four times. Tawse has continued its high standards and today is one of the largest productions of organic wines in Niagara. Several vineyards are named after Moray’s children, and the whole estate sees thoughtful care throughout. The geo-thermal energy system in the winery reduces traditional forms of energy tremendously, and the building design sees fruit and fermenting juice proceed with gravity from one stage to the next. Everything has a purpose: the attractive pond and fountain at the approach to the Tawse winery are their wetland bio-filter that provides the re-use of all sanitary and winery process water.

| Sylvia Jansen "An elegant, spicy yet fresh Chardonnay from a great Canadian estate. With great presence on the palate and a beautiful harmony of flavours, this will be great company with a special meal! -SJ" | | Rick Watkins "MacIntosh apples on the nose, nice acidity on the palate, full-bodied, would pair nicely with roast chicken." | | Gary Hewitt "Concentrated cool climate Chard showing classic Burgundian traits of nuts, popcorn kernel, lemon-apple, wet stones and butter (almost butterscotch); developing complexity and sure to become richer and even more complex over the next 3-4 years; round mid-palate with a long finish. Freshness assures great food matching. Excellent. 2010 vintage tasted 1 Dec 14." |
