About the Producer
Jean-Claude Mas is considered a leader of “Sud de France,” seeing the Languedoc as a place for wines with quality, richness, and diversity. Jean-Claude’s great-grandfather, Auguste Mas, bought the first family vineyard in 1892 and the family have built a large endeavour from that start. Today Paul Mas wines aim for the authenticity and character of the south, with respect for the environment in grape growing and respect for the fruit in winemaking. A talent for blending and ageing are part of the Paul Mas style. Almost a third of the estates’ own vineyards are organic.
Reviews & Notes
Sylvia Jansen
"A lovely white with great body and freshness; texture and spice balance the succulent, stone and melon fruit and the wine is great with risotto, grilled vegetables, or white fish."
Gary Hewitt
"The 2014 is a restrained version of this consistent best value white. Under-ripe honeydew melon and white peach vie with apple and citrus. The wine still wants the weight that could come with a little more bottle age, although its fresh acidity makes food pairing easy--think Asian foods and beyond. Very good now and potentially excellent. 2014 tasted 6 Feb 2017."
