About the Producer
When Fabio Motta, originally from Lombardia, began working the vineyards of Bolgheri as a student of agronomy, he did not know he would fall in love, twice. His work brought him to apprentice with the legendary Michele Satta, one of the icons of Bolgheri winemaking. Fabio’s work with Michele nurtured a love for this coastal Tuscan region, and also introduced Fabio to Michele’s daughter Benedetta, with whom he fell in love and married. In 2009 he was able to embark on his own project with the acquisition of 4 hectares of vines in the Bolgheri DOC. Today he is widely respected among the best small producers in Bolgheri. The vineyards are biodynamically farmed and the approach in the cellar is hands off, with natural yeasts for fermentations, with extraction and maceration carefully and respectfully managed.
Reviews & Notes
Mike Muirhead
"A favourite of mine. This Vermentino is great now, and going to be great in a few more years as well. Lemon drop, waxy, complex palate that will gain some weight as it develops. Have a couple for now, a couple for later in the cellar."

"Juicy with building complexity, a fresh blend of Vermentino (darling white grape of Sardinia and increasingly coastal Tuscany) with Viognier and Sauvignon. Young and wound a little tight maybe just waiting to burst out. Lemony with stoney minerality and a touch of resinous herbs. Great food wine. Drink now and for 2-3 years. Excellent. (2016 tasted 8 Jan 2018)"
