About the Producer
To walk through vineyards with Marta Rovira Carbonell, winemaker and principal of Mas d’En Gil, is to be treated to insights from a vine whisperer. Marta oversees the small estate, producing wines that are marked not only by the depth and power that marks Priorat, but by an uncommon freshness. She credits her results with the biodynamic techniques that she learned as a child at her grandmother’s side. In fact, it was this inspiration that drew Marta away from a successful career as a lead engineer in a company in Germany to return to the family wine business. Marta and her team have nurtured the old vines of the estate near Bellmunt del Priorat, surrounded by steep hillsides and woodlands, and have brought Mas d’En Gil into a leading group of Priorat stars.
Reviews & Notes
Sylvia Jansen
"Stylish white from friends at Mas d'en Gil. Full bodied, aromatic of orange peel, orchard fruit; beautiful with seafood or sushi."

"Stony, almost saline white wine with entrained CO2 currently masking the elegant citrus and stone fruit character (hint: decant to open up the flavours). Flavour builds on the taut, structured palate. This is a sophisticated blend of White Grenache and Viognier for seafood, fish and chicken with oil/cream sauces. It's designed to drink young but will likely drink for 5-6 years. EXCELLENT."
