What appears as a large brand is anything but: La Posta is a project of small family growers, single vineyards and family effort. The “brand” was conceived by the visionary Laura Catena, who sought to celebrate the region’s vine and wine families, in a true collaboration that helps retain their ownership and build community capacity. Laura Catena works with these families to increase quality, and uses the talents of her top winemaker; the results showcase the terroirs of the region. Wines are named after their grower families, and the brand “La Posta” is taken from the mailhouse/tavern where farmers would traditionally meet and drink wine after a hard day in the vineyard.
