Pinuaga has grown its stature on quality, old vines, organic farming and authentic wines. They do this in an often underrated span of vineyard area known for large production wines south of Madrid. The estate is currently run by third generation Esther Pinuaga, who has taken the family’s approach for organic production to new levels of quality. Old bush vines, which are scarce resources, are nurtured for amazing results. Old clones of Tempranillo (called Cencibel) have been recovered and propagated, biodiversity is encouraged, and vineyard plots are vinified separately to maintain the most beautiful expression of each place. The Pinuaga estate is about 30 hectares—not a large estate in this part of Spain—producing a range of wines that has gained international attention.
