About the Producer
The contribution of Zarate to the reputation of Rias Baixas is immense. In Spain’s northwestern winegrowing corner, Zarate has faced the cool, wet conditions that have been thought to be hostile for organic and biodynamic production, and has succeeded in natural viticulture. In a market of fresh, but not always exciting, Albariño wines, Zarate has taken this traditional grape variety and has transformed it, through old vines, skilled massal selection, and brilliant winemaking, into an art form. Zarate were the first to bottle a single-vineyard Albariño, and continue always to press forward the quality potential of this distinctive region.
Reviews & Notes

"What a lovely summer wine. Screams out for seafood, especially shrimp on the BBQ. Lovely peach, MacIntosh apple and lime flavors. The high acidity gets your mouth ready for food and wanting another glass of the beautiful wine."

"This well-made Rias Baixas offers complex flavours of ripe melon, apricot, orange-citrus, and dried flowers with salty, volatile overtones. The pulpy mid-palate is like biting into a grape and there's a long finish sustained by lively acidity. It's a sneaky wine more complex than it first appears. The salinity is a wonderful bridge to sea food (or salty dishes!), but overall it's a great food wine. Drinking now and for several years. (2020 tasted 22 March 2023)"
