Christoph and Johannes Thörle are at the forefront of bringing the Rheinhessen to new quality levels. In 2006 they took over ownership of the family 16th century estate (although their parents are still helping the team). Together the brothers have transformed their crus around Saulheim to organic and biodynamic methods (receiving organic certification in 2022). Their work with the Pinot family of varieties as well as Riesling has been widely celebrated. In 2019 they invested in a new winery and reception building, which they placed directly at the vineyard, reflecting nicely the connections between the vineyards, the human work in winemaking and the enjoyment of the finished wines.
