About the Producer
With a family history that has stretched unbroken for five generations, the Boiron family have gained a reputation as one of the stars of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The domaine is run today by husband-and-wife team Nicolas and Jeanne-Claire Boiron. They feel privileged to work in the region: “Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a grand cru, one of the best in the world,” says Nicolas. They work sustainably in the vineyard, primarily with old vines (average age is about 50 years). Red wines are primarily Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourve`dre, with small amounts of Vaccare`se, Counoise and Cinsault. Annual production is small, with 30,000 to 50,000 bottles of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape red.
Reviews & Notes
Rick Watkins
"A super CDP that does not need cellaring. From vines 50-100 years old and you can tell the complexity the old vines give the wine. Silky and velvety in the mouth, the finish gives red berries, spice and fresh herbs."
Tina Jones
"Rich and spicy, full-bodied but very relaxed and not too earthy! A wine for good food. Drink soon!"

"Great producer, delivers deliciousness. Rich, structured, tons of depth and concentration. Drink now or cellar for a few years."
Gary Hewitt
"Eleven years old--in its prime. Silky tannins, pronounced flavours ranging from mature red fruits, candy apple, Provence herbs, white pepper and beef broth. Rich, complex, and round. Balanced, very long and complex. Drink the 2007 now and don't wait more than 5 years. Excellent to Outstanding. (2007 tasted 1 Jan 2019)"
