About the Producer
With a small production (less than 100,000 bottles), taken from less than 14 hectares of vines in five different villages, the family of Domaine Rollin have carved a remarkable reputation for elegant Burgundy wines. Vineyard work is as clean, neat and natural as possible: in the words of Simon Rollin, “It is impossible for us to create great wines without good grapes from well-maintained terroirs.” Their estate has been certified by Terravitis since 2015. In the winery, unhurried long and natural fermentations give wines that are both enriched and refined in contact with their lees. On any given day most of the family members are present in the winery, or a vineyard, or in a vehicle traveling between these.
Reviews & Notes
Gary Hewitt
"Lean, refreshing white from a top producer of Aligote, Burgundy's 'other' white grape. Distinct green apple, lemon and mouthwatering acidity make this racy, fresh wine a foil for shell fish (mussels, clams, scallops) or even for high acid foods including pickles, sauerkraut, or vinaigrette dressings. Its intensity suggests a mellowing over 5-8 years may repay cellaring. Very good . 2017 tasted 6 May 2019."
Anton Sikorsky
"A light and refreshing wine that also has a lot of character. Notes of green apple and fresh lemon are balanced out by richness, and brioche flavours from lees ageing. Aligote is the lesser-known second white grape of Burgundy. Domaine Rollin gives it plenty of attention, and they come out with an excellent wine!"
