Malayeto is Vina Zorzal's first "terroir" wine. It's from a 35-year-old, 2.4-hectare Garnacha vineyard in Navarra of northern Spain. Juicy, bright and alive with pure cherry and raspberry fruits, fine ripe tannins, and a touch of dry-climate herbs. Balanced to age mid-term but so attractive right now. Serve slightly cool and drink in gulps. Ole! Very Good. (2015 tasted 22 Feb 2018)

Like a warm lemon wrapped in gauze squeezed over fish. Lifted citrus, white peach and talc, juicy acidity and a surprisingly complex finish. 100% Vermentino from the little north Italian region of Liguria. It's remarkably clean for a natural wine. No vintage is indicated but a lot number 2/2017 and its youthfulness suggests it's no older than 2016. Fish, fish, sushi, fish, yum. Excellent. (22 Feb 2018)

Like spring run-off--fresh air, rain, and wet stones--with notes of lemon and cashew on a mouthwatering palate with a titch of bitter almond in the finish. A blend of indigenous Portuguese grapes, cool fermented by native yeast in stainless steel with 10% fermented in oak. The "Canadian" label is totally charming. "Branco" means "white". (2014 tasted 22 Feb 2018).

A flavourful kaleidoscope of grapefruit-pear-candied fruits and fresh white mushroom with youthful intensity. Drink now for its vitality or wait until it becomes more grau-nded. This ain't no early-harvest Pinot Grigio but a ripe expression of Pinot Gris. Excellent. Give a little air after opening and don't serve too chilled. (2015 tasted 21 Feb 2018)

Public Notes: What a beautiful expression of Syrah from the Rhone. The is a wild element going here giving aromas of meat and leather. In the glass the tannins are structured but smooth with black fruits, bacon and a floral accent on the finish. Beautiful!!

This wine could be classified as Brunello be it not for the fact that it comes from the world's highest density vineyard. At 62500 vines/hectare the vines truly are like bonsai trees and the grapes sourced from them ultra concentrated and complex. A fascinating wine that will age for 20 years but impossible to resist now. Only 500 bottles of this spectacular wine are produced each year. Dark red fruit, black tea leaf, leather, violet & tilled earth in a rich, spicy French oak frame. Excellent

A stand-out vintage from cult winery Emidio Pepe. Biodynamic, hand-picked, foot-trodden, and every bottle decanted and labeled by hand. Traditional wine that stands the test of time. Dark, rich black fruit with smoked meat, porcini mushroom, tobacco, leather supported by a fine, dusty tannins and fresh acidity. Endless layers of complexity and a finish that last for days. Decant before serving to truly appreciate all this amazing wine has to offer. Excellent.

This is the wine to show people that not all German Rieslings are cloyingly sweet. Bone dry with lovely lemon and lime aromas and flavors with a beam of searing acidity that makes the mouth water and makes you want another glass. Will improve for a few years but hard to resist now. Roll out the smoked fish or oysters and have a feast!

A lovely cool climate Cabernet from Victoria. Aromas of black fruits and violets. Blackberry and blackcurrant on the palate with soft, supple tannins. Great by itself or pair with Beef Tenderloin with a Cabernet reduction sauce. (you could use this wine!!)
